Association For Democratic Rights(AFDR) unit Bathinda held an emergency meeting of its entire membership today and decided to whole heartedly participate in the demonstration on 10th March in Bathinda to raise the voice against the war hysteria being build through a propaganda of blind nationalism among the people by certain communal forces and the central government to divert the attention of the masses from the failures of the policies adopted by the Modi Govt during the last five years of their regime. In a press statement released by president of the Association principal Bagga Singh ,general secretary Pritpal Singh and press secretary Dr Ajit Pal Singh said that instead of giving the answer to their failure Modi Govt is basing upon the false propaganda so as to win the forthcoming parliament elections. No doubt the terrorism is to be controlled to save the lives of the people but building a war situation against a neighbouring country is not the right answer. They further said that policies adopted by the central government and use of black laws like AFSPA in Kashmir instead of solving their problems like poverty, unemployment and malnutrition the state has alienated the youth and some of them has been pushed towards the terrorist activities. In the present situation the Indian and Pak Govt should take bilateral initiative to adopt the path of negotiation to solve the border problems because war across the border is not the solution.People of both the countries do not want war as it will aggravate their problems of poverty and unemployment etc. Association also decided to celebrate International woman day and a first century of Jillihan wala bagh massacre to oppose the black laws still being implemented.
