Association For Democratic Rights(AFDR) unit Bathinda has taken the serious notice of shifting of Govt high school Janta Nagar and govt elementary school Amarpura kothe to 4 km away in the building of special school thermal colony Bathinda across the Bathinda-Sri Amritsar Highway and Sithind canal. In a press statement issued by unit president principal Bagga Singh and press secretary Dr Ajit Pal Singh said that about 250 students are studying in the Govt High School Janta Nagar, the future of those will be handged in air by this decision of Govt. The school of these two slum area basti the students from the poor sections of the society hardly reach the school even in the neighborhood. The decision of Govt to close this neighboured  school and shift this to the four km away will deprive these poor students of their right to education which is the constitutional duty of any elected government towards its people. The students have to cross Bathinda-Amritsar National Highway daily to reach Thermal colony site  putting  their security in danger.AFDR has demanded the immediate withdrawl of this decision as demanded by the people of janta nagar and amarpura kothe which is their democratic right to oppose the wrong reason of Govt.
